Tim Bray's interested in search, and working on a backgrounder.

Prowling around his site, i found a page about visualization that points to an Atlas of Cyberspaces. This is a really interesting collection of applications/demos/ideas for visualizing large amounts of data. I've been thinking about how these techniques may apply to visualizing text information, including Scripture. For example, there are a number of intriguing ways to visualize social networks. What insights would you get from visualizing the inter-personal relationships described in Scripture, and the concepts that are part of that relationship?

Problem #1 is the usual: how do you get the raw data? I know of no version of the New Testament, for example, that's annotated with names so that you could do this kind of visualization (but i'm thinking about how to produce one). Please let me know if you've come across one!
