It didn't take me long when collecting verses for the Imperatives of Jesus project to get tired of all the cutting and pasting. Once i found the English Standard Version web services API, it was clear that provided a better way to compose the content. I had some programming time this weekend, so i worked out some code that i hope will get the project moving again. [read more ...]

donna made some beautiful banners for Easter decorations at church a year ago ... while i was away last week, she completely re-arranged the living room, and hung one. It looks fantastic!

donna and i have been laughing over a thread on our church's music team discussion group about Mondegreens, lyrics that are misheard. For example, can you name the famous 70s acid-head who sang

'Scuse me, while I kiss this guy.

kissthisguy.com has a large collection of these. Jon Carroll's site is apparently well-established in the Mondegreen world. I remember several years ago a thread on the Bruce Cockburn fan list about Mondegreen's (one of his greatest hits: "If I had a rockin' lawnchair"). There's even a Radio weblog named Mondegreen, though i'm not sure why.
