<outline text="Michael Marlowe's arrangement of Kurt Aland's Synopsis Quattuor Evangeliorum: 367 pericopes with hyperlinks to the texts. One peculiarity (or perhaps feature) is that pericopes are repeated so each Gospel's material is in order: that accounts for the large number of pericopes. I assume this is a feature of Aland's original (which i haven't seen), not Marlowe's presentation. I can't easily tell how many unique pericopes he'd have without this repetition: far less than 367, though. In addition, he groups passages from different authors that have some similarities, even when they are clearly different (e.g. the responses to sermon on the mount (Matt 7.28-29) and the teaching in the synagogue at Capernaum (Mark 1:21-22)). <outline text="JB Phillips' Harmony of the Story of Jesus has a top-level organization that is both chronological and topical: it repeats material from each Gospel to give the full picture. Unfortunately the individual pericopes aren't presented in a separate index, so you have to get down into each text to find them, which is a bit awkward. "/>
<outline text="McGarvey's Four-fold Gospel is another fairly contemporary harmony. "/>

<outline text="Herbert R. Rinder's Composite Gospel is a very similar idea to this one, though i conceived of this approach prior to discovering it. Rinder's work combines many passages across the Gospels with similar topics, even if the settings are clearly distinct: for example, his entry for "two important commandments" combines one story where Jesus affirms the commandments to love God and love your neighbor, and another where a religious teacher affirms them in response to a question from Jesus. His work therefore groups things that i have split into separate pericopes. "/>

It does include some information attempting to date and place certain passages, which bears further review. "/>
